About the Role
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our Gastrointestinal (GI) inpatient senior leadership team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 nurse to progress their career, enhance their leadership and managerial skills, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and competent care for a caseload of patients and take charge of the ward on a day-to-day basis.
- Support the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse with effective leadership, staff support, and ward improvement projects.
- Have proof of mentorship qualification and a commitment to teaching, mentoring, and developing students and staff.
- Use excellent communication skills to benefit patients and the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate UCLH Trust values through leadership, multidisciplinary team working with colleagues, patients, and their families.
About the Team
The GI Division is a large and dynamic team that includes a large endoscopy department, four inpatient wards, a specialist nutrition service, bariatric services, bowel screening services, intestinal bowel disease, upper and lower GI surgery, vascular surgery, and general surgery.
