Electrical Engineer Opportunity at HMP Parc

HMP Parc, a Category B men's private prison and young offenders institution in Bridgend, Mid-Glamorgan, Wales, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their facilities team. As part of the Works Department, you will be responsible for both reactive repairs and planned and preventative maintenance, as well as installation work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively and safely deal with breakdowns and fault-finding
  • Adhere to Health and Safety, G4S policies, and regulations
  • Participate in survey inspections for quality control, including confined spaces
  • Record and log all work
  • Provide equipment and services on site as necessary
  • Conduct inspections within the works department, including repairs to assets, building fabric, and grounds
  • Collaborate with various skill levels in a team environment
  • Demonstrate security awareness within the prison environment
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture, leading by example, and report incidents or near misses in a timely manner
Working Arrangements:

This is a 40-hour per week position with a 5 out of 7-day permanent contract. You will also be required to work on a 6-week rotation on call, with a £100 per week on-call allowance and £85 per call-out.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical or equivalent
  • 17th/18th Edition certification
  • Desirable: 2391 Test and Inspection certification
  • Strong team work, attention to detail, and security consciousness
What We Offer:
