Location: Remote (with occasional on-site work at The Library of Birmingham)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented External Researcher to join our team at Tate West End Temp. As an External Researcher, you will be responsible for managing our off-site search requirements, supporting our researchers in finding long-lost heirs and beneficiaries through the plotting of family trees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research using historical birth and death certificates, census documents, and marriage certificates to verify or discount information for searches
- Work autonomously to manage search requirements and meet deadlines
- Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in genealogy and historical research
- Collaborate with our researchers to provide accurate and timely information
- Enter data accurately and efficiently into our database
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in genealogy, history, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in genealogical research or a related field
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in data entry and database management
