About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a permanent night shift basis. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, focusing on preventative maintenance and reactive repairs when breakdowns occur.
You will play a key role in modernising the production environment, working on a mix of older legacy equipment and newer technology. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of production lines and maintaining high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise machine breakdowns
- Respond to breakdowns and perform repairs, focusing on root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Provide technical support for project work aimed at modernising equipment
- Collaborate with a team of skilled engineers and apprentices, sharing knowledge and learning from others
- Ensure the smooth operation of production lines, keeping machines running efficiently
- Fault finding on PLCs
- A multi-skilled engineer or experienced electrical maintenance engineer eager to grow and learn
- Ability to work independently and manage your own shift
- Ability to fault find on PLCs
- Previous experience in chemical or food manufacturing environments is advantageous
