Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Graduate Building Surveyor to join our client's team, a respected national contractor specializing in highways maintenance. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety across the UK's road infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the financial oversight of highway maintenance initiatives, ensuring optimal cost management and budget compliance. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
- Monitoring and controlling project expenditures to ensure alignment with financial plans.
- Compiling and submitting monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Managing accounts for subcontractors and suppliers, including invoice review and approval.
- Assisting in the procurement processes for materials and subcontractors.
- Providing financial guidance and support to project managers and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring adherence to contractual and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the highways or civil engineering domain.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT frameworks.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A valid UK driving license.
