Role Overview
Purpose of the Role
The People Strategy Consultant will collaborate closely with both the HR team and management to facilitate the achievement of pivotal objectives within the people agenda. By aligning with the business, the Consultant will merge an understanding of the organizational context with HR proficiency to customize business solutions and devise effective interventions that address current and future organizational needs.
The Consultant will deliver commercially viable and pragmatic solutions for all employment-related issues, ensuring that people plans and initiatives are consistently integrated while coaching managers to cultivate positive relationships with employees.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate and operate commercially as a vital member of business area management teams, influencing the development and execution of the people strategy to support overall business goals. Manage relationships and expectations to provide proactive, commercially sound insights and adaptable solutions to tackle HR challenges across the organization. Advise and mentor managers through various employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and capability issues. Support the effective execution of change management initiatives, encompassing medium to large acquisitions and business transformation projects, while minimizing employee relations impacts. Understand and apply the company's compensation framework; oversee compensation reviews and benchmarking activities for the designated business area. Contribute to the development of Policies and Processes to ensure HR practices comply with legal and regulatory standards. Design and deliver Management Information (MI), analyze results to identify trends that inform HR initiatives, and present data to senior management. Oversee recruitment within the business area, ensuring an exceptional end-to-end recruitment and onboarding experience for new hires. Collaborate with Finance to monitor and manage headcount budgets. Assist the HR Operations team in achieving performance objectives and delivering a customer-focused approach across all departmental activities. Foster a high-performance culture that reinforces our values and behaviors, supported by robust performance management capabilities.Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law and experience in resolving complex people-related challenges. Understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting financial services and/or professional services. Strong commercial acumen to evaluate risks and opportunities for the organization. Ability to work efficiently and meet established personal and team objectives. Resilient, approachable, and self-assured. Possesses gravitas and can easily establish credibility. Highly articulate with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical capabilities.
