About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Durham. The successful candidate will have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with challenging behavior and SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Build positive relationships with class teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress
  • Prepare resources for lessons
  • Supervise pupils at break times and lunch times as required

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 ideal, Level 2 considered)
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within schools in the UK
  • Ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
  • Genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education
