Octagon Group is seeking a highly skilled Global Category Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and deployment of global category strategies for Outside Processing Suppliers (OSP).
Key Responsibilities:- Technical & Commercial Leadership: Drive the development and implementation of OSP strategies to achieve optimal conditions (cost, commercial, quality, delivery, innovation, VAVE) for the Direct Material category.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and own supplier relationships for strategic initiatives to implement cross-business synergies across a rationalized set of global and regional preferred supplier partners.
- Contract Management: Develop, implement, and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.
- Supply Chain Solutions: Develop and implement supply chain solutions, including Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI), supplier consignment stock, etc., where applicable.
- Sustainability and Compliance: Ensure compliance of suppliers with Sustainability Programs, Go GREEN initiatives, and SCM policies.
- Profit Planning and Strategic Planning: Plan, prepare, and execute annual Profit Planning and long-term Strategic Plans for the owned spend, and support execution with the business cross-functional teams.
- Innovation and Risk Mitigation: Develop innovative business solutions, forecast commodity projections, and provide mitigation actions as applicable to ensure key metrics for the procurement function (Cost Out, DPO, OTD, Diversity Spend, etc.) are achieved.
- Communication and Collaboration: Develop global communication plans and share new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards, and procurement opportunities with senior management that are aligned with strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives.
- Spend Analysis and Supplier Selection: Undertake spend analysis, supplier assessment, and supplier selection to agreed processes, build cost models (TCO/should cost) to validate commodity strategies and to understand cost drivers.
- Commodity Support: Provide commodity support to New Program Teams as required, including specifications, costs, and schedules.
- Negotiation and Cost Modeling: Negotiate and manage cost models for suppliers to include 'hard' money (such as price, volume discounts, etc.) and 'soft' money (such as expertise, technical backup, etc.) in the context of Total Acquisition Cost (TAC) and Total Opportunity Cost (TOC).
- Supplier Business Reviews: Prepare and lead Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers annually.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration from an accredited institution.
- Professional Certifications: Professional Supply Chain related certification (e.g., CPM, CPIM).
- Language Skills: Multi-lingual (English, French, German).
- Experience: 2-3 years' professional experience with negotiating experience in a global business environment, 3-5 years' professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities, and 3-5 years' professional experience in Category Management.
