Job Opportunity: School Business Leader

The Derbyshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of School Business Leader. This role will involve leading and managing the business functions of the schools, including budgeting, ICT management, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective business strategies to support the schools' goals and objectives.
  • Manage the budget and financial resources of the schools, ensuring efficient use of funds and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Oversee the management of ICT systems, ensuring seamless operation and effective use of technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Lead and manage the administration, midday, and premises teams, ensuring a high level of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement school improvement plans, ensuring a focus on student achievement and well-being.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the school community, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior management role, with a strong track record of budget management, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a Senior Leadership Team, contributing to school improvement and strategic planning.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
