Our client is a young individual with learning disabilities and intricate health requirements seeking dedicated personal assistants to help her maintain independence at home with her family.
When in good health, she enjoys socializing and partaking in activities such as visiting cafés, cinemas, museums, and shows, as well as spending time with friends. She loves being outdoors, riding her tricycle along the seafront and in parks. During times of ill health, she finds comfort in listening to stories, watching films, and appreciates companionship to ensure her comfort.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal hygiene, medication administration, mobility support with and without a hoist, providing assistance during extended myoclonus (shaking) episodes, first aid, and light household tasks such as cooking. Additionally, you will support her communication program (PODD), with training provided.
We are looking for a personal assistant who is respectful, engaging, well-organized, and adaptable to make the most of each day, regardless of our client's health status. Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities is essential. You should be compassionate and caring, yet resilient and capable of using your initiative.
Requirements
Training Specific to this Client:

You will receive training to CQC standards to meet the client's needs. Prior care experience and familiarity with the client will be advantageous. Previous care experience is not mandatory unless stated otherwise.
Essential Requirements for this Role:
- As you will be supporting our client in the community, it is crucial that you are a driver with a full, clean driving license. For insurance purposes, you must be over 25 years old.
- This position is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1, necessitating the recruitment of female support workers only.
- An enhanced DBS check is required for this position (cost covered by HomeCareDirect).
- Willingness to commit to long-term care for one client in a 'Person-Centered' manner.
- Prepared to undergo CQC training to meet the client's needs.

This position is for a personal assistant to join our client's support team, providing assistance in their home.
