We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Lead to join our Unsecured Credit Risk team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the credit risk of our Unsecured portfolios, including designing effective lending strategies, managing credit quality, and providing specialist credit risk advice to the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and Coach a Team of Analysts: Drive and deliver data-driven insights into the unsecured portfolios using tools such as SAS, PowerBI, QlikSense, and Excel.
- Provide Accurate and Meaningful Insights: Inform senior leadership, identify emerging risks, drive efficiencies, and design robust credit strategies.
- Evaluate and Refine Credit Control and Portfolio Management: Support the growth of our unsecured portfolios by evolving our credit control and portfolio management approach.
- Build and Develop Relationships: Represent Credit Risk at internal and external meetings, and develop relationships with key stakeholders at a senior level.
- Develop and Optimize Credit Risk Strategies: Provide expert advice to ensure our lending stays within risk appetite, and support business partners in designing pragmatic solutions.
- Assess and Implement New Tools and Data Sources: Support the digitalisation agenda by assessing new tools and data sources, and implementing them to support the business.
- Strong Credit Risk Background: Several years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong understanding of statistical and analytical tools.
- Experience with SAS and Other Analytical Tools: Experience of using SAS and other analytical tools to build and apply modelling and forecasting techniques to business problems.
- Logical and Analytical Mind: A logical and analytical mind with a passion for solving complex problems.
- Self-Motivated and Innovative: Self-motivated with a desire to stretch yourself and seek out new challenges, and innovative with a willingness to keep abreast of market changes.
- Strong Interpersonal and Influencing Skills: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to lead and coach a team of analysts.
