Job Title: Health Promoter

We are seeking a skilled Health Promoter to join our team at MSF UK. As a Health Promoter, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to address various health issues in communities around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse and understand local behaviour and practices at risk of transmitting diseases within target groups.
  • Coordinate IEC activities on different topics to support medical activities, including promotion of medical services, hygiene promotion, and information on maternal health, malnutrition, malaria, HIV/AIDS, and Ebola.
  • Research, design, and implement appropriate interventions to address health issues.
  • Build capacity of local teams to implement health promotion campaigns.
Requirements:
  • Formal education in Anthropology, Sociology, or relevant social sciences.
  • Two years' post-education experience working in the field of Health Education and Promotion.
  • Broad experience in Health Education working with communities.
  • Experience in supervising, managing, and training others.
  • Able to work well as part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Willing to work in unstable areas and ability to cope in a difficult and unpredictable environment.
  • Available for a minimum of nine to twelve months.
  • Minimum of three months' work, volunteering, or travelling experience in developing countries.
  • Flexible and able to manage stress.
  • Fluency in English.
Assets:
  • Familiarity with tropical diseases/infectious diseases.
  • Previous field experience in a similar role with another non-governmental organisation (NGO).
  • Previous field experience in a similar role in an unstable environment.
Language Requirements:

We are currently looking for Health Promoters with good French and Arabic skills. You must be able to speak a minimum B2 level of French and/or Arabic.
