Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at VanRath. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a multidiscipline Design & Build team and ensuring that all project activities are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design and site teams' performance to ensure they are in line with contract requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of all project activities and identify any issues that need to be resolved promptly.
  • Deliver low carbon buildings and unique projects, ensuring that they meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct weekly site audits and regular review meetings with contractors.
  • Communicate effectively with site managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that projects meet a high level of service delivery to clients and maintain general housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Carry out practical completion and pre-snag audits, manage and control costs, and maintain regular, consistent, professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal personnel.
  • Follow and comply with all policies and procedures, manage and coordinate workload to ensure delivery of service to a high quality level for clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor consultant and contractor performance, including payment authorisation in accordance with the delegated authority guide.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts, implement and monitor relevant project control and administration systems, and report project progress and risks to clients and management.
  • Prepare site assessments, due diligence reports, cost reports, project control reports, construction reports, and completion reports, and manage design development, coordination, reviews, and approvals during planning and construction phases.
  • Supervise contractors in scheduling and monitoring project work and inspection upon completion, and prepare monthly project review reports.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policy at all times, report any accidents or issues regarding health and safety appropriately, and ensure that all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed, and followed.
Requirements:
  • Recognised Construction Qualification (BSc/HNC/HND)
  • Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training
  • Full UK Driving License
  • 5 years' experience in the construction industry
  • Demonstratable NEC forms of contract experience
  • Demonstratable experience working with Contract Management Platforms
  • High proficiency working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Delivery of Projects for Public Sector Clients
  • Demonstratable experience of leading the delivery of projects with a construction value exceeding £10 million
  • Significant experience in the management of projects which included Design
  • Good client-facing and communication skills
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible
  • Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks
  • Be reliable & committed
  • Participate in overtime when required (including weekends)
  • Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined, and commercially astute
  • Good technical writing skills and knowledge of reading drawings and tender documents, etc.
