Job Title: Senior Solar Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Solar Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Solar Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing large-scale solar power plants, including utility-scale projects. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop large-scale solar power plants, including utility-scale projects.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Assess site topography, potential constraints, and main components sizing for green field development.
  • Prepare and review design specifications, and engineering design packages for large-scale PV projects.
  • Evaluate climate data sources and prepare energy yield simulations to provide key project performance indicators for commercial project optimization.
  • Lead/participate in site visits to buildable area, optimize layout design, identify infrastructure crossings, and prepare site assessment reports.
  • Lead/participate in technical discussions and negotiations with third-party technical advisors and consultants for Technical Due Diligence of PV projects.

Requirements:

  • Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of PV system design (engineering planning), IEC codes, and specification according to project/country-specific requirements.
  • Good understanding of techno-economic aspects of solar projects and latest market developments.
  • Hands-on experience in solar power plant design, preferably in utility-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects in the UK and ideally a minimum of 5 years in solar PV projects, BESS, and ideally Floating and AgriPV.
  • Sound design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, civil design, SLD, MV, and HV equipment's, Power Transmission, System loss calculation, & general electrical requirements of large-scale solar power plants.
  • In-depth knowledge in modules, inverters, cables, transformers, MV switchgears relays, and industry best practices.
  • Software skills: Mandatory - AutoCAD, PVSyst, (PVCase or Helios 3D), and MS office; Desired - QGIS or ArcGIS.
  • Business Fluent/English, other languages would be a plus.
  • Pro-active team player with high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability.
  • Highly committed, strong communication & negotiation skills, interpersonal and intercultural competence, positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn, willingness to contribute, and travel affinity.
