Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Process Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transition of approved kitchen samples to full production scale up.
Key Responsibilities- Support NPD Technologist: Assist in creating trial paperwork and ensure clear communication with the production team.
- Create Trial Plan: Develop a trial plan with the NPD Technologist, ensuring all raw materials are ordered and log guide dates upon delivery.
- Organize Trials: Work with the planning manager to complete trials, ensuring they are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Conduct Factory Trials: Conduct all factory trials with production, coordinating specific requirements and expectations with the NPD Technologist.
- Collect Trial Data: Collect all trial data, including machine settings, mixing methods, weights, and other relevant information.
- Collect Samples: Collect samples for shelf life and nutritional testing, as well as retained samples for QAS (good and bad) completion, photography, and customer sign-off.
- Ensure Traceability: Ensure that all NPD raw materials adhere to factory traceability requirements.
- Remove Equipment: Remove all new raw materials and equipment from production and store them in an appropriate area.
- Liaise with Production: Liaise with production to ensure any WIP (work-in-progress) is disposed of after all samples have been collected.
- Complete Trials Reports: Complete trials reports and share information with the wider team.
- Lead and Manage NPD Microbiology and Nutritional Samples: Lead and manage NPD microbiology and nutritional samples, logging and results data base, following the Laboratory procedure.
- Work with Engineering: Work closely with engineering to better understand machine capabilities and machine settings.
- Attend Meetings: Attend internal and customer meetings as required.
- Education: Preferably educated to relevant degree level or qualification by experience.
- Experience: Experience working within a process technologist role in the food industry, essential, ideally within bakery.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and experience of bakery ingredient functionality, understanding of HACCP Principles and suitably qualified (Level 3 minimum), good written and verbal communication skills, computer literate in all aspects of Microsoft Office, and food hygiene qualified.
