Job Title: Machine Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operative to join our team at GHA Recruitment Ltd. As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for operating various machines to produce high-quality metal products.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate bending, linishing, guillotine/cutting, CNC milling/turning, and drop and drill machines to produce metal products

• Work with general architectural metals on designs such as handrails and balustrades, balconies, stairs, and feature metalwork

• Maintain a high standard of finish and attention to detail

• Read technical drawings and work off them as required

• Rotate between different areas in the workshop and be trained on how the company manages work orders

Requirements

• Experience with using hand tools to achieve a high standard of finish

• Previous experience from either handheld grinding, deburring, and dressing welds or metal finishing

• Experience working with stainless steel and tubing

• Ability to read technical drawings and work off them if required

• Previous experience with the above machines is essential

• A good eye for detail is required for working on intricate bespoke projects

• Manual handling experience – able to lift heavy weights is essential

• A keen, enthusiastic, and positive attitude

• Ability to work to a consistently high standard while meeting deadlines

• Be able to work as part of a team

• Using initiative when working alone and unsupervised

What We Offer

• 45-hour week

• 07:30 to 17:00, 30-minute unpaid lunch break

• Hourly rate ranging from £13.00 to £17.50 per hour PAYE depending on experience (£30k to £40k)

• Immediate start
