Gold Group is collaborating with a prominent main contractor known for its distinguished portfolio of infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

We are currently assisting them in their search for a seasoned and motivated Lead Cost Consultant to become a part of their team, focusing on a significant infrastructure initiative in Birmingham.

This presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute to a transformative project that will influence the future of the region.


As a Lead Cost Consultant, you will be instrumental in the successful execution of the project's primary package of works, which encompasses drainage, structures, and earthworks.

You will engage closely with the project team, delivering financial insights and ensuring effective cost management.

Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing cost value reconciliations (CVRs), managing subcontractor payments, forecasting project expenditures, and aiding in compensation events.


Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and oversee CVRs to assess project performance against financial targets.
Evaluate, manage, and process subcontractor payments and applications.
Deliver precise cost forecasting and reporting to senior management.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of compensation events and variations.
Collaborate with design and construction teams to identify cost-effective solutions.
Monitor and regulate project costs, pinpointing risks and opportunities.
Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and industry standards.
Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.

Candidate Requirements:
Demonstrated experience as a Cost Consultant in the civil engineering sector
Strong comprehension of CVRs, subcontractor payments, forecasting, and compensation events.
Experience with the NEC suite of contracts
Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar.
Professional membership with RICS or CIOB is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
