Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Dermatology team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide senior clinical nursing leadership and professional development for the nursing and support workers within the clinical area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled assessment of patients, including history taking, skin assessment, and interpreting test results.
  • Use expert clinical knowledge to diagnose and manage patients with dermatological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized management plans for patients, using clinical decision-making skills.
  • Contribute to the performance of diagnostic procedures, such as patch testing, and train nursing staff in relevant competencies.
  • Prescribe medications as a Non-Medical Prescriber, within the area of specialty, and in line with Trust protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues within the organization, and accept referrals from the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain professional registration and practice within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Requirements
  • Registered general nurse with a degree and post-registration qualification relevant to the specialty.
  • Experience in dermatology, with evidence of teaching, assessing, and practice development.
  • Good communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the specialty, and ability to adapt to change.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in teaching, mentoring, and practice development.
Working Arrangements

The post holder will be required to work across both Chelsea and West Middlesex Hospital sites, and may be required to work across both sites on occasions.
