Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Physics Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the physics systems that bring our virtual worlds to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Physics System Design and Development

You will work on the design and development of cutting-edge physics systems for our video game project using Unreal Engine 5. This will involve collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate physics simulations seamlessly into gameplay mechanics, character interactions, and environmental effects.

Collaboration and Integration

You will work closely with the art, design, and gameplay teams to ensure that our game mechanics and environments adhere to the laws of physics while still delivering engaging and captivating gameplay.

Advanced Physics Algorithms and Techniques

You will implement advanced physics algorithms and techniques to create realistic and dynamic movement, collision, and destruction effects.

Performance Optimization

You will optimize physics performance to ensure smooth gameplay experiences on a variety of platforms and hardware configurations.

Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

You will troubleshoot and resolve physics-related issues, working closely with other engineers to find creative solutions.

Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing

You will mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to elevate the team's skill set.

Requirements
  • Professional Experience

You will have significant professional experience as a physics programmer with a proven track record of shipping high-quality video game titles.

Expertise in Unreal Engine

You will have expertise in Unreal Engine, with a strong understanding of its capabilities and limitations.

Programming Skills

You will have proficiency in C++ and a strong understanding of programming principles and best practices.

Physics Principles and Application

You will have a strong understanding of physics principles and their application in interactive environments.

Advanced Physics Techniques

You will have experience with advanced physics techniques such as rigid body dynamics, soft body simulation, and fluid dynamics.

Performance Optimization

You will have the ability to optimize physics simulations for performance on various gaming platforms.

Problem-Solving and Collaboration

You will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.

Desirable Qualifications
  • GPU Programming and Parallel Computing

You will have experience with GPU programming and parallel computing for physics simulations.

Mathematics and Algorithms

You will have knowledge of mathematics and algorithms related to physics simulation and collision detection.

Unreal Engine's Blueprint System

You will have familiarity with Unreal Engine's blueprint system for prototyping and iterating on physics interactions.
