About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welfare Support Officer to join our team at Mears, where you will play a vital role in supporting families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing integration support services to occupants living in transit estates, ensuring a smooth transition to settled homes in the community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct property checks to ensure compliance with standards
  • Support families during the transition from current sites to new accommodation
  • Liaise with local authorities to facilitate family moves
  • Assist service users with Universal Credit and daily life in a British home

Requirements

  • Experience working with vulnerable and diverse client groups
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles
  • Ability to identify individual and family needs
  • Experience working with mental health and challenging behavior
  • Effective communication and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
