About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our shift working team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the dispensary workload, providing a service for hospital inpatients and discharge prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the dispensary team in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of medications, including their uses, side effects, and interactions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Current UK professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Technical skills required for working in laminar flow cabinets and manufacturing aseptic products
