Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Protection and Control

Join Burns & McDonnell as an Electrical Engineer - Protection and Control and contribute to the success of our Transmission and Distribution Global Practice.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the development of technical solutions for our Protection and Control engineering projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing design engineering deliverables, leading project teams, and providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of technical solutions for Protection and Control engineering projects
  • Produce design engineering deliverables, including detailed engineering deliverables and technical reports
  • Lead project teams and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
  • Collaborate with other sections within the UK T&D Engineering Team to enable effective collaboration on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, procedures, standards, and technical guidance to improve the engineering capability within the P&C discipline
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program
  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
  • Knowledge of engineering design management best practices and ability to implement
  • Understanding of the requirements of relevant UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation
  • IT literate, with good knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of applying CAD technology/software to substation and P&C design and understanding of BIM principles (PAS 1192 and ISO 16950)
