As a relatively new department established as an Executive Agency of the Cabinet Office in 2018, we are rapidly expanding and seek candidates who thrive in dynamic environments, can quickly adapt to change, and are willing to step beyond their defined roles to achieve results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of HUBS projects in accordance with design standards, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and scope.
- Secure necessary financial and resource approvals for multiple projects.
- Collaborate with product teams to provide ongoing feedback on product issues and user experiences, facilitating product development and enhancement.
- Offer expert guidance to colleagues and clients at all levels regarding IT delivery and the product suite, managing projects with budgets ranging from £3-£5 million.
- Conduct testing and transition projects to the service management function and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with government guidelines and policies regarding information assurance and security maturity.
- Identify and manage project delivery risks effectively.
- Report on project progress in alignment with established reporting tools and timelines.
- Continuously assess and enhance GPA's information management maturity while addressing risks identified in regular information and cybersecurity reviews.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in other government departments, influencing decision-makers and securing support for the product.
- Oversee multiple clients from various departments to ensure compliance with the GPA IT strategy as outlined in the technical annex of the design guide.
- Collaborate with up to eight IT product providers to deliver projects within budget, timeline, and scope.
- Recognize best practices and methodologies to evaluate the status of ongoing projects.
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Technical Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, cabling, communication rooms, audiovisual, and video conferencing technologies.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and influencing senior stakeholders beyond your immediate team.
- Proficient in financial management, including business case development and management of capital and resource costs within agreed budgets.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital service delivery, including agile methodologies and the organizational changes necessary for successful implementation.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver projects effectively.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects in high-pressure environments.
- Ability to present clear and persuasive narratives to all organizational levels, resolving conflicts with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and supplier management skills.
- Experience utilizing various methods to quickly become a subject matter expert in assigned areas.
