ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a key member of our team stationed at a prominent distribution facility, the IT Systems Support Engineer is responsible for delivering hands-on technical assistance and analysis for our software, infrastructure, and technology solutions, ensuring the seamless operation of installed systems.
This role involves direct engagement with clients to facilitate operational assessments, manage exceptions, and oversee change processes, positioning the individual as a vital contributor to the efficiency of our client's daily business activities.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Systems Support Engineer will effectively communicate any critical business situations to the hotline and development teams with the appropriate level of urgency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage internal software systems (WCS, WMS, PLC, SCADA) and related hardware.
- Conduct identification, analysis, and root-cause investigations of Systems and IT challenges.
- Assist in the resolution process of software issues through thorough investigation.
- Manage incidents and problems (hotline tickets).
- Maintain effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Achieve the established performance targets for the role.
- Prioritize workload and tasks dynamically based on current business requirements.
- Exhibit self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving, fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and engage effectively with stakeholders.
- Maintain a high level of responsibility and awareness regarding business-critical situations.

- Support the resident engineering and maintenance team during breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in an IT-related field is essential (Degree level preferred) or 3-5 years of experience in IT.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and supply chain management.
- Proficient in Linux Operating Systems (command line interface for OS performance management, log file navigation, and release deployment).
- Skilled in SQL (DML, DDL, TCL) and SQL Developer.
- Experience with PL/SQL language.
- Strong debugging capabilities.
- Hands-on database experience (Oracle knowledge is advantageous).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in software application support and incident investigation is desirable.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics, high-volume manufacturing, distribution, production planning, and/or transportation environments is preferred.
