Principal Offshore Structural Engineer

About the Role:

KBR's Integrated Solutions business unit is seeking a highly skilled Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the lead engineer in the preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering analyses for operational, non-operational, and accidental phases, and design primary steel structures.
  • Carry out secondary and tertiary steel design, and provide input for structural 3D modeling and drawing production.
  • Compile design basis, project specifications, and design reports as required.
  • Review vendor data from a structural perspective, and review analyses/calculations performed by others, providing technical guidance and resolving discrepancies.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Structural Engineering Design.
  • Experience in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering of offshore platforms and FPSO.
  • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills, with the ability to consistently deliver on quality and schedule.
  • Proficient user of SESAM GENIE and SESAM suite of software.
  • Proficiency in non-linear FEA using ABAQUS and USFOS is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of latest revisions of offshore design codes, such as ISO 19901, EN 19902, and applicable DNV & NORSOK codes.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks, and ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
