Sellick Partnership is partnering with a large social housing organisation to find a skilled Assistant Maintenance Manager. This role will assist the Repairs and Maintenance Manager in providing, planning, and coordinating in-house staff and external contractors to manage the organisation's statutory, regulatory, and compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Assist in ensuring the organisation's compliance with statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings, specifically in regards to:
    • Electrical Safety: cyclical domestic testing, repairs works, lightning conductors
    • Electrical Services: to Mechanical systems, including communal heating systems and distribution, ventilation, pumps, etc.
    • Fire Safety Systems: fire alarms, emergency & communal lighting, sprinkler and dry riser systems, and fire extinguishers
  • Staff Supervision: Assist the R&M manager in supervising staff and sub-contractors to maximise productivity, performance, and quality.
  • Risk Management: Carry out surveys of the organisation's risks in relation to electrical compliance and ensure effective plans are in place for the management and reduction of any identified risks.
  • Service and Inspection Processes: Support in ensuring that all relevant service, testing, and inspection processes are carried out correctly, remedial/follow-on works are undertaken on a risk basis, and the service, testing, and inspection process is fit for purpose.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Holds 18th Edition IET wiring Regulations BS7671, trained to NVQ Level 3 with an electrical discipline qualification, City & Guilds 2391 Inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations or equivalent.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a full UK driving licence.
