Job Title: Deputy Ward Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Ward Manager to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the high standards of care and quality of service are maintained on our wards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the deputy to the ward sister, regularly taking charge of the ward and ensuring that the standards and quality of care given to postnatal mothers and their babies are maintained at a high standard.
  • Be an effective leader and role model, providing regular direct clinical care and using experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.
  • Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care is offered to all women, identifying common issues affecting the quality of care and devising clear action plans to address any shortcomings.
  • Support the ward or department team in completing appropriate risk assessments and develop action plans to provide a safe environment for the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with the ward sister to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
