Position Overview
The successful candidate will deliver essential engineering support services to the operational assets. This role requires the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a diverse team of operations, instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical professionals, all aimed at enhancing the reliability and availability of the assets while ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) targets.

Key Responsibilities
As an Instrumentation Maintenance Specialist, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Performing daily maintenance activities including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of instrumentation equipment.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance coordination team and discipline engineers to address and resolve daily operational challenges.
  • Engaging with permit signatories to prepare and discuss permit requests, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinating with other trades and supervisors for necessary scaffolding and lagging support during specific tasks.
  • Gaining proficiency in the permit system and executing enabling isolations on instrumentation systems.
  • Conducting fault diagnosis following equipment failures, identifying issues, and implementing solutions within designated timeframes while minimizing costs.
  • Ensuring competence in the operation, maintenance, and installation of instrumentation systems in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
  • Adhering to the Control of Work system and Site Safety Orders.
  • Providing supervision and facilitation of personnel and tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • ONC (HNC preferred).
  • Possession of CompEX modules 01 – 04 certification.
  • Preferred: BS7671 (current edition) IET Requirements for Electrical Installation certification.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing information from engineers and operational technicians to plan work effectively.
  • Familiarity with the SAP PM model.
  • Demonstrated experience and training records to support competency assessments.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Working knowledge of temperature, pressure, flow, and level systems.
  • Understanding of DCS, PLC, and emergency shutdown systems.
