Experienced Toolmaker

Location: Kidderminster

Salary: £28,000

Shifts: Weekend Nights - OFF Monday - Thursday

Metalis are working with a leading manufacturer based in Kidderminster who, due to expansion, are looking for a skilled Tooling Engineer to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Welding and free-hand forming of cavity steel
2. Surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and CNC machine operation
3. Supporting foundry production and manufacturing cells
4. Carrying out repairs and maintenance to dies and shear tools on and off the machines
5. Working from CAD drawings and specifications
6. Full strip-down of dies with sliding hydraulic/manual cores
7. Changing broken core pins on the die-casting machine
8. Reinserting cavities and slide cores into bolsters
9. Assembly of shot stems and tips

Requirements:

1. Ability to read from CAD drawings and models
2. Previous machining experience - grinding (surface, cylindrical), radial drill experience
3. Must be computer literate
4. Time-served apprenticeship
5. ONC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
