Early Years Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Years Practitioner to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our nursery team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Your primary responsibility will be to care for a group of children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. You will plan and implement a variety of engaging activities, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), to promote their development and well-being.
As a key person, you will build strong relationships with the children in your care, understanding their individual needs and interests. You will also work closely with the nursery SENDco to support children with additional needs, ensuring their development is promoted as fully as possible.

Key Responsibilities- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Plan and implement engaging activities, aligned with the EYFS, to promote children's development and well-being.
- Build strong relationships with children, understanding their individual needs and interests.
- Work closely with the nursery SENDco to support children with additional needs.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food, and supervise meal times.
- Good standard of secondary education, with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GCSE pass level or equivalent standard.
- Willingness and ability to undertake Food Safety training.
- Relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (in accordance with https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-qualifications-finder) or above.
- Able to provide relevant activity ideas and ability to care for children.
- Demonstrates an enthusiastic approach to working with children and learning practically within nursery.
- Recent previous experience of working with 3 months - 5-year-olds within a childcare setting.
