Spectrum Society for Community Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in an overnight position. The successful candidate will provide support and assistance to an individual with complex needs, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the individual with daily living activities, including medication administration and documentation.
- Provide a calm and supportive presence, helping the individual to connect with their community and engage in activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being.
- Work effectively as a team member, participating in staff meetings and collaborating with other support staff to ensure seamless care.
- Communicate concerns and issues to the manager and fellow staff, ensuring that the individual's needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs and behaviors.
- Excellent observational skills, with the ability to accurately assess and respond to the individual's needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with the individual and their family.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to care.
- Computer proficiency, with experience using software and systems to document and track care.
- Mandt or NVCI certification.
- Experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries.
- Ability to motivate, encourage, and engage the interests of others.
The successful candidate will work Sunday to Thursday, 10:30pm to 08:30am, providing overnight support to the individual. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life, and to be part of a dedicated team that is committed to providing high-quality care.
