Role Overview:


An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a vital part of the newly formed South West division within the regional commercial team.

In this role, you will oversee the daily commercial operations of one or more new build projects along the M4 corridor, with initial assignments likely to be in Swindon or Reading. Candidates must possess experience managing substantial new build projects valued at a minimum of £10m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the project achieves optimal commercial returns.
  • Accurately prepare cost and value reconciliation reports.
  • Facilitate and agree on interim valuations to secure the best commercial advantage.
  • Collaborate in final account agreements with subcontractors to enhance project margins.
  • Ensure subcontract orders are processed in line with company protocols and procurement schedules.
  • Maintain oversight of subcontractor accounts and minimize variation costs.
  • Manage subcontractor valuations and correspondence effectively.
  • Execute quantity surveying duties on assigned projects as directed.
  • Prepare or assist with monthly cost and value reconciliation reports, accurately reflecting the project's financial forecast.
  • Develop turnover cash flow forecasts as directed, updating as necessary and tracking actual valuations against forecasts.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Proven track record in managing new build construction projects of at least £10m.
  • Experience with a main contractor is essential.
  • Willingness to commute across the M4 corridor.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to identify improved processes.
