Key Responsibilities

Objective

The role involves the operation of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Subsea Tooling, IWOCS, and RWOCS Systems, as well as Tensioning and Reel Systems, ensuring safety and efficiency while maintaining and repairing all associated electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and sub-systems, including component repair, replacement, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Operating equipment such as cameras (video and still), acoustic positioning systems, sonars, manipulators (robotic arms), LARS (Launch and Recovery Systems), hydraulic power units, and complex subsea tooling.
  2. Assisting or piloting the ROV by assessing environmental conditions and hazards, docking/undocking from the TMS (tether management system), and navigating the ROV using acoustics, sonar, and visual (video) methods.
  3. Conducting maintenance and repairs on equipment, including electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics, utilizing test equipment, calibrating, aligning equipment, and performing general housekeeping and corrosion control.
  4. Operating and repairing electrical over hydraulic and direct hydraulic control systems that interact with pumps, valves, and other hydraulic transmission and power equipment.
  5. Operating and interfacing with subsea navigational equipment, including but not limited to magnetic compasses, gyros, transducers, sonars, altimeters, and associated survey equipment.
  6. Integrating and operating tooling, including but not limited to cutters, pump units, multipurpose skids, dredging systems, standalone sensory systems, and any other tooling integrated with the ROV.
  7. Maintaining inventory of parts and supplies related to all electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies and subassemblies.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications (Subject to Regional Variance)

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required; a Technical/Associates degree is preferred.

- A minimum of 12 months of formal mechanical and hydraulic training, alongside 12 months of formal electrical and electronics training, or a combination of education and experience.

- Ability to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as necessary.
