CMC Markets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Head of Internal Audit to lead the 3rd line of defence across the business. This is a key and senior hire for the company, and the successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to drive business growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver the annual and 3-year internal audit plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and participate in delivering complex and challenging audit assignments, leveraging expertise in audit methodologies and industry best practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management, audit committees, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and address meaningful issues impacting business operations, developing and implementing remedial actions to drive improvement.
- Prepare and present draft audit reports, ensuring clear and concise communication of findings and recommendations.
- Effectively track and chase audit actions, testing implementation prior to sign-off.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
- 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in financial services or banking, with a proven track record in leading and delivering risk-based projects.
- Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of audit methodologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex information to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with knowledge of JIRA and Confluence beneficial.
- Education to degree level or equivalent professional experience, with a recognized relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CIMA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA) desirable.
- Self-starter with a high degree of self-sufficiency, excellent planning, coordination, and organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues remotely.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to change, and able to negotiate issues and resolve problems effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
