You will serve as a representative of Cancer Research UK, collaborating with the superstore manager and your team to optimize sales and fundraising objectives. Your superstore will be a hub for community engagement, allowing visitors to connect with our mission and witness the impactful work we do.
You will be surrounded by individuals equally committed to the fight against cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the superstore manager in leading, motivating, and engaging a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers, focusing on recruitment, retention, and development.
- Oversee the commercial operations of the superstore, including visual merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining high shop standards.
- Collaborate with the superstore manager to achieve targets related to donated stock, cash flow, gift aid, average selling price, and stock processing.
- Support the logistics of processing and distributing large volumes of donations across various channels.
- Set an example by delivering exceptional customer service and supporter engagement.
- Build relationships within the local community and with Cancer Research UK colleagues to enhance community involvement and increase donations.
- Aid the shop manager in organizing and executing innovative fundraising events to meet financial goals.
- Step in for the superstore manager during their absence.
- Be prepared for a variety of physical tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in achieving sales and profit targets.
- Experience in managing and inspiring a large, diverse workforce.
- Ability to work towards targets and motivate others to reach those goals.
- Proficient in multitasking within a dynamic retail environment with substantial stock levels.
- Creative mindset with a focus on identifying innovative operational opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster relationships.
- Flexibility to meet the operational needs of the store while respecting work-life balance.
