Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children, Young People Support Specialist to join our team at Stonewater. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred, age-appropriate, strengths-based support to children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people through their journey with Stonewater, providing emotional support and guidance to help them overcome challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each child or young person, in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment for the children and young people in our care.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and partners to provide comprehensive support services and advocate for the needs of our clients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.
  • Strong understanding of child development, trauma, and attachment theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
