About the Role

This is a new Shipping Coordinator position, joining a busy shipping team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. The successful candidate will support all aspects of imports, liaising with the purchasing team and ensuring seamless logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange export shipments, covering all modes of transport, and prepare associated export documentation, including Health Certificates and Certificates of Origin and Export Licences.
  • Ensure database information is up-to-date and submit new information where necessary, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Review changes within the freight industry to identify changes in legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Provide support to other areas of logistics as and when required, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years' office-based experience in a similar role.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air, Sea, or Road qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to take initiative, be proactive, manage changing priorities, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Import and Export experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail, friendly, and helpful nature, with strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel.
