About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in Lancaster. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our KS3 and KS4 students and teachers in a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery, providing individualized support to students as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere, fostering student development and addressing individual learning needs.
  • Support students with reading, writing, and SPAG skills, adjusting activities to promote participation and understanding.
  • Develop a supportive relationship with students, promoting self-esteem and confidence.
  • Liaise with teachers and SENCO to develop and implement support plans for students with specific needs.
  • Provide whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one support, monitoring and maintaining records of student progress.
  • Assist with general school duties, including setting up classrooms, preparing resources, and supervising students during lunchtimes.
Requirements
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviors.
  • Have the ability to engage with and build rapport with students.
  • Be creative, proactive, and flexible in your supporting style.
  • Have experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or knowledge of learning difficulties.
  • Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification.
