Job Overview

MDE Group UK is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our injection moulding machinery and other processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on injection moulding machines and other processing equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues to ensure equipment is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimize equipment performance, address technical issues promptly, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance production processes.
  • Provide technical support to enhance production processes and contribute to the development of new maintenance procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and a strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with injection moulding machinery or similar plastics processing equipment.
  • Electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns when necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the production team and other stakeholders.
