Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent reports to the Court Administrator and manages the operational units of the court in Kent County. Essential functions include:

  1. Providing administrative control over non-judicial activities by managing the case processing unit, mediation unit, security unit, and intake unit.
  2. Offering managerial and administrative direction to unit supervisors to meet the court's operational goals and needs.
  3. Participating in planning, reviewing, and managing the court's automated systems with court Directors.
  4. Responding to inquiries from Judges, Commissioners, attorneys, litigants, governmental officials, and members of the general public regarding Family Court policies and procedures.
  5. Recommending and implementing internal administrative policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
  6. Coordinating building maintenance, services, and other administrative activities related to the facility.
  7. Performing related work as required.
Requirements:

Applicants must have education, training, and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Two years' experience in operations management and supervision, including planning, directing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating operations through subordinate supervisors.
  2. Four years' experience as a manager in the interpretation and application of federal or state statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  3. Four years' experience in developing solutions and providing recommendations, guidance, and direction to management/officials in accomplishing organizational and operational goals and objectives and identifying and resolving issues.
  4. Four years' experience in developing policies and procedures.
Conditions of Hire:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
