Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trainee Accounts Assistant to join our team at Lookers Accounts Office. As a Trainee Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various accounting tasks, including debtors and credit control procedures, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and cashiering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile debtors and credit control procedures to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Perform cashiering duties, including banking and petty cash management.
  • Collaborate with the management team to resolve accounting queries and provide accurate financial information.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the relevant departmental manager.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of financial principles and procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. You will also possess strong Microsoft Excel skills and be able to reconcile data efficiently. Additionally, you will be able to maintain accurate records, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate initiative in improving procedures.
