Role Overview:
As a Line Leader, you will play a crucial role in guiding a team on a daily basis while supporting the Shift Manager in achieving production targets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation: Ensure the production line is ready before the shift begins, arriving 30 minutes early to receive instructions and set up for the incoming team.
  • Team Management: Organize and inform team members of their responsibilities upon arrival, maintaining awareness of their activities throughout the shift.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the Shift Manager to understand production requirements and ensure the team is aligned with the daily production plan.
  • Resource Management: Monitor and supply necessary materials to the line, checking inventory levels and reporting shortages to the Shift Manager.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track the output of the line, ensuring production targets are met and conducting checks during and after runs.
  • Compliance: Oversee weight and traceability control procedures, ensuring accurate documentation as per legal obligations.
  • Waste Reduction: Implement strategies to minimize waste, understanding its impact on the business.
  • Maintenance Reporting: Immediately report any machine malfunctions to the engineering team to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Training Oversight: Identify training needs within the team and communicate them to the Shift Manager to ensure all members are adequately trained.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold health and safety regulations, taking action against unsafe practices.
  • Hygiene Standards: Maintain cleanliness in the work area, emphasizing the importance of hygiene in a food production environment.
  • Break Management: Organize and monitor team breaks, ensuring compliance with scheduled times.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Overtime Availability: Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to assist in different areas or lines as production demands change.
  • Professional Conduct: Set a positive example in adherence to company policies and procedures at all times.
