Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy and autism evaluations in the Barking and Dagenham region.

About NELFT

Welcoming New Team Members NELFT values the importance of a comprehensive onboarding experience for new employees. All new hires will commence their journey with the Trust on the first Monday of each month, participating in an extensive induction program lasting up to two weeks. This program includes mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. New team members will also have the chance to meet with executive leadership, senior management, and attend various engagement sessions focused on health, wellbeing, and essential processes.

Probationary Period This position is subject to a probationary period, with internal applicants exempt unless currently undergoing a probationary period or employed as bank staff.

High Cost Area Supplement - London This role includes a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the base salary, with a minimum of £4,313 and a maximum of £5,436 per annum (pro rata for part-time roles).

Job Responsibilities

The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, which includes Community Paediatricians, Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, and Speech and Language Therapists, to deliver comprehensive autism assessments for children and young individuals.

Additionally, the position entails working alongside the Speech and Language Therapy team to provide high-quality assessments and interventions for autistic children and their families.

There are numerous opportunities to engage with autistic children and young people across various age groups, including Early Years, Mainstream, and Secondary education settings. Our work spans multiple environments, including nurseries, schools, clinics, homes, and Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs).

You will be welcomed into a supportive team atmosphere, with ample opportunities for personal development. For instance, you may participate in training for ADOS-2 and Gestalt Language Processing. Furthermore, you will have the chance to learn and apply cutting-edge research in the field of autism through collaboration with the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre.
