About the Role

GSL Education - Leicester is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team. As a SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and developing learning plans and timetables for pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and develop learning plans and timetables for pupils with SEMH behavioral needs.
  • Plan, design, and deliver an innovative curriculum focused on the complex needs of pupils.
  • Liaise with colleagues to plan and prepare for pupils to successfully assess.
  • Work with colleagues to develop pupils' social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
  • Devise and apply criteria for evaluating success with pupils who experience BESD.
  • Take responsibility for tracking pupil progress and collecting and monitoring data to support teaching and learning.
  • Deliver and facilitate dynamic, creative, and active lessons.
  • Identify resources required to sustain and embed high-quality subject delivery.
  • Deliver lessons to children aged 11-18 years.
Requirements
  • Teachers - to hold, or be willing to work towards, QTS/QTLS.
  • Tutors - to have a degree or equivalent and be willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
  • Proven track record of raising attainment, supporting behavioral challenges, and demonstrating high levels of pastoral care.
  • Enthusiasm about alternative education methodologies.
  • A commitment to holistic student development.
  • Ready to bring fresh ideas and creativity to the classroom and outside it.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives.
  • A good understanding of the national curriculum - English, Maths, and Science.
  • Science background and knowledge of teaching is essential.
