About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Threat Intelligence Specialist to join our team at Police ICT. As a key member of our Threat Intelligence team, you will play a critical role in developing awareness for the policing community of the cyber risks to critical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Threat Intelligence: Continuously assess the threat landscape and inform stakeholders of potential cyber risks.
  • Report and Analyze Threats: Provide regular reports and analysis of cyber threats to service, executive, and operational stakeholders for mitigation decisions.
  • Limit the Impact of Cyber Risks: Engage forces in pre-incident planning and preparatory activities to limit the impact of known cyber risks.
  • Constrain Attack Surfaces: Work directly with the threat hunting and malware service to constrain attack surfaces through proactive threat intelligence.
Requirements
  • Security Clearance: Ability to acquire SC and NPPV3 level clearances.
  • Knowledge of Threat Landscape: Knowledge of current threat landscape, including specific awareness of adversarial cyber actors and their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Experience in Open-Source Intelligence: Experience in utilising open-source intelligence and the development of tools to assist with this.
  • Experience in Malware and SIEM Log Analysis: Experience in conducting malware, phishing, and SIEM log analysis.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence Sources: Knowledge of relevant cyber threat intelligence sources.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and translate cyber threats to the relevant audience.
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills: Ability to generate clear and concise reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications
  • CREST Registered Threat Intelligence Analyst: CREST Registered Threat Intelligence Analyst certification.
  • Intelligence Analysis Course: Completed Intelligence Analysis course (e.g. NIAT, RISC UK or similar).
  • UK Police Cyber and IT Environments: Understanding of UK Police cyber and IT environments.
Working Arrangements

We offer a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to work from home 2 days a week and collaborate with our team in our modern office environment. Please note that in Q3 of 2025, the NMC will be relocating to offices in the Wigan area.
