About the Role

We are seeking an experienced qualified solicitor or barrister to join our team as a Senior Solicitor. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team and providing legal advice with an emphasis on one or more of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Property law, including sale and purchase of land, complex leases, and land development and regeneration deals.
  2. Planning law, including s.106 agreements and CIL, planning law and policy, reviewing and advising on planning conditions, planning enforcement, and attending and advising at planning committee.
  3. Highways law, including knowledge and interpretation of the Highways legislation and common law, drafting and negotiating s.38 and 278 agreements, private street works code, rights of way, and the definitive map.

This is a hybrid working position with some office attendance required.

What You'll Do

You will manage a team and act as the go-to expert for one or more of the above areas. Your expertise will help us navigate complex legal landscapes and make informed decisions. You will work closely with our service clients, senior officers, and our elected members on challenging and exciting projects.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced qualified solicitor or barrister who is ready to take on new challenges and make a difference. Previous management experience is not essential as training can be provided. If you're passionate about law and have a keen interest in working in the public sector, we are keen to hear from you.
