Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Development: Lead or assist in the architecture, deployment, and management of the necessary infrastructure components for our applications and services, including managed cloud environments, networking, security, and data storage.
  • Automation and Tooling: Create and maintain automation tools to enhance infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and monitoring. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies with tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Monitoring Solutions: Establish monitoring frameworks to assess the health, performance, and availability of infrastructure and applications. Set up alerting systems to inform teams of potential issues proactively.
  • Incident Management: Engage in incident response efforts to diagnose and resolve issues. Provide updates on incident status to ensure stakeholders are informed. Conduct root cause analyses to identify underlying problems and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Performance Optimization: Review system performance data to find areas for improvement. Fine-tune infrastructure components and configurations to enhance performance and resource efficiency.
  • Security Measures: Apply security protocols and respond to incidents in line with established guidelines.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) strategies to maintain business continuity and reduce downtime. Create and test DR plans, and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Capacity Management: Analyze resource usage trends and prepare the infrastructure for anticipated future demands.
  • Documentation and Training: Generate and update documentation for infrastructure setups, processes, and best practices. Share knowledge with team members through documentation and training sessions to promote a culture of collaboration and learning.

Qualifications

  • Strong scripting and automation skills in languages such as Go, Python, and Bash.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and security measures.
  • Familiarity with IaC tools and configuration management frameworks (e.g., Terraform).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, AWS Cloudwatch) for infrastructure and application oversight.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
