We are currently looking for a Transport Administrator/ Planner to support our operations.

In the role of Transport Administrator / Planner, you will be stationed at the gatehouse, overseeing the scheduling of all incoming and outgoing shipments, welcoming visitors and contractors, and managing the shunting team and operations. You will also be responsible for the upkeep of the yard management system across various locations. Your duties will include planning assignments, distributing tasks to hauliers, generating reports, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient workspace for all personnel. Collaborating with your team is essential to deliver exceptional service to our clients while fostering trust and respectful business relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of up to £26,000 annually. Additionally, you will receive 25 days of vacation (plus public holidays) with the option to purchase extra days. Enjoy access to numerous high street discounts, a cycle-to-work scheme, a workplace pension, and various other benefits.

Your Daily Responsibilities:

  • Adapt swiftly to the demands of customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding planning adjustments and service delivery with both clients and supplier hauliers.
  • Oversee and manage yard management systems effectively.
  • Exhibit teamwork and flexibility in working hours to meet fluctuating business needs.
  • Ensure optimal use of planning and yard management systems, adhering to best practices and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Recognize the strengths and weaknesses of colleagues, providing support to achieve both business and personal objectives.
  • Continuously seek to enhance the services provided, offering suggestions and recommendations as needed.
  • Proactively minimize accidents and hazards by adhering to Company Policy, Health & Safety Standards, and maintaining cleanliness across the platform.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management as required.

Qualifications for Success at XPO:

  • Experience with yard and planning management systems.
  • Familiarity with transport planning in a third-party logistics (3PL) setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in using transport planning software.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with clients.
