About the Position:
Astute People is excited to collaborate with a progressive and ambitious organization within the UK's Solar industry. This company is recognized for its innovative approach and strategic vision to make a substantial impact in the commercial and industrial solar market.
Role Overview:
This Lead Solar Technician position offers a competitive starting salary of approximately £52,000, along with overnight allowances, covered travel expenses, and opportunities for professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and directing commercial electrical installations.
- Managing a team daily to ensure high-quality service delivery to clients.
- Coordinating with mechanical teams for optimal cable management and sealing.
- Mentoring junior technicians to enhance their skills.
- Upholding stringent health and safety standards on-site.
- Installing solar systems ranging from 20kW to 1MW.
- Conducting wiring, testing, and system completions.
- Acting as the primary client contact on-site when necessary.
- Traveling as required for business purposes, potentially spending extended periods away from home.
Qualifications Required:
We seek candidates with the following credentials:
- Level 3 in electrical installation.
- Valid test and inspection qualifications (2391 or equivalent).
- AM2 certification.
- ECS Gold Card (preferred).
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification is desirable.
- A relevant Solar PV qualification is a plus.
Personal Attributes:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A technical mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for relationship building.
- A willingness to travel as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Lead Solar Technician role offers:
- Salary range of £45,000 - £50,000.
- Pension scheme.
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
