Role Overview:

Wilson Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Technician with a Class 1 Licence. The ideal candidate will have dealership experience and a strong technical background. This role involves maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs.
  • Work within a shift rotation, including early, late, and Saturday shifts.
  • Participate in the breakdown assistance van rotation once technical requirements and assessments are completed.

Breakdown Assistance Technician Rota:

  • £350.00 per week standby (Monday to the following Monday)
  • £30.00 per call-out outside of shift hours
  • Call-outs from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Monday to Friday) paid at time and a half
  • Call-outs from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM (Monday to Friday) paid at double time
  • Saturday call-outs from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM paid at double time; 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM paid at time and a half
  • Call-outs from Saturday 2:00 PM until Monday 6:00 AM paid at double time

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 Licence
  • HGV Technician experience, preferably within a dealership environment
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work on a rotating shift pattern and participate in the breakdown assistance rota
